Meet The Team: MC Jimmy

Meet The Team: MC Jimmy

Drum roll for our MC Jimmy! ::wika wika::

MC Jimmy (aka James Calocerinos) is the heart and soul behind the sound effects, theme music, intros, and anything musical for Overquill. His skills and proficiency extends to real life instruments such as the piano, guitar, bass, and mandolin to name a few.  He's also composed soundtracks for certain fan and indie video games.

MCJ got his first bite of the gaming bug by a classic NES system back when he was still in diapers. As far as his mad skills that pay said bills, his artist name was gifted to him from his 6th grade Social Studies teacher after he made up an impromptu rap about Lewis and Clark.

Meet The Team: Travis Miller

Oh Captain My Captain! Creator Travis

By leaps and bounds, our leader is chock full of creativity, elaborately woven stories, and entertainingly insane ideas.

As far as origin stories go, Travis started on the path of being an artist in order to make his ideas a reality, yet found a strength in programming that turned his ideas into short Flash games. It was only logical that he was destined to start his own company, and gather other creative people to help make his ideas an even bigger reality.

Meet The Team: John Cooke

Meet The Team: John Cooke

Introducing John Cooke! Voice of big baddy Warden Lygus.

Mr. Jonathan Cooke has graciously graced us with his vocal stylings to play the part of big baddy Warden Lygus. For the past decade, John has been a part of several video games as well as radio commercials.

Not only is he featured in games, but since his start with the classic NES system back in the good ol' 80's, he makes it priority uno to play them whenever he can. When asked to brag about himself, he confessed that he does NOT have a 3rd nipple or 6th toe, but he does enjoy dabbling in doodling and cartooning. I'd say that's pretty keen!

Dev: Overquill Opening Sequence and Title Near Completion

Hey everyone,

This post marks the beginning of a series in my blog that will let you guys know what I'm working on for Overquill and how much progress has been made.  For your convenience, I will put 'Dev' in the title of all development/ progress related posts.

So what did I cook up?  So far, I have created:

  1. The opening scene (art pending) (music completed).
  2. The Overquill title screen (art pending) (music completed).
  3. A leveraged version of Dynamic Textbox Engine to allow me greater control over dialogue.
  4. A bare bones sandbox featuring the player character and an empty room.  This will be used as our testing ground for our assets.

There isn't a lot to see currently, but I will give you guys a look at some of the concept art in the works as well as some music.

Here is the concept art of the main character:

...and the walk cycle of the character:

And here is the main title sequence song: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/673159

Website Nearly Online/ Game Updates Coming Soon

Hello World!!

Welcome to the site for my gaming company, PandaShock Games.  On this site, I will be posting (somewhat regularly) updates on the games that are being developed, sales for those games and other bits of interesting game design knowledge that I pick up.

Currently the site is still being updated, but I think it will get to a manageable point where it will be fully operational within the next few days.  Stay tuned for updates on the two new games I have in the works.  One is a card game and the other is a video game, so if you like either of those gaming media, definitely check them out.
